Because the Common Application has another section, one you might not have even thought about, and which the majority of students leave blank. In this video, I’ll tell you about that section and how you can use it to take your application to the next level and get into the college of your dreams!

Writing an effective college application essay is difficult, and, for many students, coming up with a good topic is the hardest part. In this video, I’m going to share 5 brainstorming strategies that I’ve used to help my students come up with winning concepts for their essays. I’m confident that the strategies I’m about to share will help you get unstuck and give you the inspiration you need to write an incredible college application essay, one that will get you into the school of your dreams.
How many colleges should you apply to? The College Board recommends only 5-8. But what about 20? 50? 100? Increasingly, students are applying to a large number of schools to maximize their chances of admission to a prestigious one, a phenomenon known as shotgunning. But does it work? In this video, we will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of applying to a large number of schools, to help you determine what the right number is for you.

Whenever we work with students on their college applications, the first thing we do is give them this form to complete. Even if you are are planning on going solo, completing it will help you brainstorm.
