Digital SAT Reading & Writing Practice Module 1: One of the best ways to practice for the Digital SAT is to take a practice test. This practice module has been carefully designed to replicate the difficulty and feel of the actual Digital SAT. Detailed answer explanations are included at the end, along with a score conversion chart.

Command of Evidence (Strategies & Practice): Command of Evidence Questions require you to determine which answer choice would best support or weaken an idea expressed in a text. They represent one of the three question types that make up the Information & Ideas Domain of the Reading & Writing Section of the Digital SAT. This guide offers strategies to help you answer these questions effectively, along with drills to help you practice applying those strategies in solving questions similar to those you will encounter on the actual test.

Transitions (Strategies & Practice): Transitions Questions require you to determine the most logical transitional word or phrase to connect two sentences or, on occasion, two parts of a sentence. They represent one of the two question types that make up the Expression of Ideas Domain of the Reading & Writing Section of the Digital SAT. This guide offers strategies to help you answer these questions effectively, along with drills to help you practice applying those strategies in solving questions similar to those you will encounter on the actual test.

Essential Vocab for the Digital SAT: Although there are strategies you can use to guess around unfamiliar vocabulary on the test, sometimes you simply need to know the words. A good vocabulary is not just important on questions that test it directly, such as Words in Context Questions. It’s also essential if you hope to understand the questions, answer choices, and texts. This list of high-impact words was created based on our meticulous analysis of official practice tests and questions from leaked previous versions of the Digital SAT, and it should be a must learn for anyone who hopes to achieve a high score on the test.

Essential Word Roots for the Digital SAT: Around 60 percent of English words are derived from Latin and Greek roots. The following Latin and Greek roots frequently show up in words that you might encounter in academic texts. Learning them can be a shortcut to rapid vocabulary growth and allow you to guess around unfamiliar words on tests like the SAT.

A handful of questions on the Reading & Writing section of the DSAT will be accompanied by an infographic. If the official practice tests are any indication, that infographic will most likely be a graph or a table, but it could also be a diagram or some other visual presentation of information. For many students, these questions are some of the hardest ones on the test, but that’s usually because they’re approaching them the wrong way. In this video, I outline 4 and a half steps that you can use to answer infographic questions quickly, confidently, and above all, correctly.

English grammar is extremely complicated. Luckily, the DSAT will only test you on a limited pool of grammar concepts. I’ve scoured every official practice test released by the College Board and identified the 5 concepts that I believe are the most important on the test. Concepts covered include clauses & fragments, run-on sentences & comma splices, subject verb agreement, pronoun agreement, and dangling modifiers. All of these concepts are highly likely to come up on the digital SAT, so be sure to review them before test day.

There are thousands of vocab lists for the SAT. Unfortunately, most of them suck. As a student, it can be difficult to know which lists are worth memorizing and which lists are a waste of time. In this video, I examine the top seven results for “SAT vocab list” on Google and rate them on a scale from 200-800. I also provide some general tips on what makes a vocab list good to help you distinguish the winners from the trash.
